In September 2022, Project Ludoteca started up in Villa Ingenio, an impoverished neighourhood of El Alto, Bolivia. The program runs on Saturday afternoons and provides much needed play therapy and nutrition to 47 children ages 6 to 13. Most come from single parent households, all are extremely poor. Many have learning disabilities, and all were left behind when school was moved online in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
3 Educators engage the children and provide a safe and happy space to escape the stress of their daily lives. 2 Volunteer program managers as well as a group of parents prepare the nutritious snack - a favourite part of the program! The children and their parents are grateful for the support provided by Help Bolivia Foundation donors. However, the parents are also seeking education support for their children, which they cannot provide themselves. Many parents are illiterate, none can help with homework.
The goal for this program is to become a 5 day a week program with educators providing education support, a cook providing hot nutritious lunches as well as morning and afternoon snacks, a psychologist providing therapy for those who need it, and skills training programs for the parents.
Please consider signing up as a GEM (Gift Every Month) to help us grow our donor base and grow this program to help these children. Together we can Build Brighter Futures! Sign up HERE to become a GEM!
When donors visit the Tahuantinsuyo Community Centre, they are always thrilled to find their names on the Brick Wall donor poster in the lunchroom.
We are now building the Brick Wall donor poster for Villa Ingenio!
Don’t miss your chance to become a founder of this new program to transform lives!
When 100 bricks are donated, we will deliver the new brick wall poster to Villa Ingenio.
Thank you so much for your support!
